Junior Fellows Society

The Society of Fellows offers an introductory Junior Fellows membership for young lawyers who have been in practice 10 years or less. Junior Fellows contributions are applied to the Boston Bar Foundation permanent endowment, allowing the Boston Bar and the Society of Fellows to provide much needed support to the evolving needs in our communities.

Junior Fellows are invited to exclusive events throughout the year, including casual receptions, networking events, and professional programs. Junior Fellows also have the opportunity to participate in Boston Bar public service programs, like Law Day in the Schools. The commitment from Society of Fellows members is recognized on our website, within Boston Bar Foundation publications, and at special events. Becoming a Junior Fellow allows for the opportunity to be included in a group of legal professionals from all backgrounds and experience levels.

Pledge Today

Junior Fellows pledges are tax-deductible contributions of $1,000 payable over four years. When a pledge has been fully met, continued giving can be applied towards membership at a higher membership level.

Serving the community is an important aspect of the legal profession and getting involved with the BBF allows younger lawyers an opportunity to step into this role earlier in their career then they might otherwise be able to if they were seeking to serve in the same capacity with a similarly sized non-legal charity. In addition, the BBF supports causes that impact lawyers on a daily basis and organizations that lawyers regularly work with in their practice or volunteer on behalf of.”

“"I decided to pledge as a Junior Fellow to do my small part in advancing the BBF’s justice-promoting mission of, among other things, providing access to justice for society’s underserved. The Society of Fellows program provides a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of the work needed to help make a difference in improving the delivery of legal services.””
